U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has issued an advance notice of proposed rule making to address serious hand and finger injuries that occur from table saws. In its
2007-08 study, CPSC reports that about 67,300 injuries from blade contact were medically treated each year, totaling $2.36 billion of associated costs each year. The public is invited to
submit comments on the proposal and on the injury risks that table saws present.
