First North American Product Safety Summit Held
Consumer product safety organizations from U.S., Canada and Mexico met for the First North America Consumer Product Summit to strengthen consumer protections across the continent. U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, Health Canada and the Consumer Protection Federal Agency of the United Mexican States (Profeco) issued a statement that encourages cooperation to ensure the products that are made and sold within North America. With the increased production of global trade, the three agencies also discussed future areas of collaboration, which include market surveillance, risk assessment, consumer awareness campaigns and corrective actions.
