Regulatory Reform in Response to Deepwater Horizon Explosion

In response to the 2010 Deepwater Horizon explosion and resulting oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, the Obama Administration launched reforms to offshore oil and gas regulation and oversight (see article from Well Informed, Vol. 3, No. 2). The reforms, which strengthen requirements for well design and workplace safety to corporate accountability, are intended to help the U.S. safely and responsibly expand development of its energy resources.

For members in the oil and gas industry, how have these reforms enhanced, or hindered, offshore drilling safety and workplace safety in your operations thus far?
