New App Provides Bus Safety Records

DOT's Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) has released its new iPhone/iPad application that gives bus riders the ability to review a bus company's safety record before booking a ticket with that certain company. The SaferBus app gives the public the power to make an informed decision about their safety, or as the agency says, the app is a way to "Look Before you Book."

According to FMCSA, the app provides access to safety records on close to 6,000 U.S. interstate commercial passenger carriers, including motor coaches, and school and bus companies.
