After receiving more than 2,500 entries for the 10th annual ASSE kids’ ‘safety-on-the-job’ poster contest, the NAOSH 2012 poster is finally here. The purpose of NAOSH Week, which occurs every year during the first full week of May, is to raise awareness about occupational safety, health and the environment. Started by ASSE and CSSE in 2002, NAOSH Week now receives support from several organizations, including OSHA. During the week, members develop and implement activities throughout North America such as fleet safety classes, ergonomic awareness events, distributed catastrophe preparedness information, distributed free teen worker safety and roadway safety brochures. Each year ASSE urges everyone to get involved in an effort to educate the public about the benefits a safe workplace provides not only for workers, but for their families, friends, businesses, their local community and the global community. This year NAOSH Week will be May 6th-12th. To learn more and see previous posters, click here.
