National Association for
Safety and Health in Care Services (NASHiCS) is accepting nominations for
the NASHiCS
Safety in Care Awards 2012. Sponsored by Focus on Care, the awards
recognize significant contributions to the improvement and promotion of best
practices for safety and health in the social care sector. Winners
will be recognized at an awards dinner held in conjunction with the NASHiCS
Learning and Development Forum 2012, held in Northampton, England, in June.
Nominations are due May 11, 2012.
Open to everyone
working in the social care sector, awards are given in three categories:
- Company or Individual of the Year Award: Presented to a company or individual who has made a significant contribution to the improvement and promotion of best practice for safety and health in the care sector.
- Learning and Training Award: Presented to an individual, team or organization that has introduced an innovative learning and training initiative that has allowed the sharing of safety and health knowledge with care staff over the past 2 years bringing measurable benefits.
- Best Practice Award: Presented to an individual who has introduced change in the past 2 years to safety and health practice, having been tried and tested, with demonstrable results for the care provider.
Based in Wiltshire, England, NASHiCS strives to promote and
improve safety and health in care practice. The association and its members
deal with regulatory bodies such as HSE, along with topics including transport
for the disabled, communicable disease control, Legionella, falls prevention,
manual handling techniques, restraint, lifting aids, fire safety, stress,
first-aid, safety training and building design.
