Controlling Stress

Whether on the job or at home, everyone experiences some degree of stress. But, according to the article “Mind Over Matter,” published in the October 2011 Harvard Mental Health Letter from Harvard Medical School, stress can be countered by being mindful of the present moment. Mindfulness, the article says, is the opposite of multitasking—which often causes people to lose focus on their present surroundings. The article offers several methods and tips for practicing mindfulness, and a video that discusses the health dangers of stress.
