OSHA to Hold Hearing on Proposed Beryllium Rule

OSHA has scheduled an informal hearing on its proposed beryllium rulemaking, which it published in August 2015. The proposed rule would cut the time-weighted average permissible exposure level for general industry to 0.2 microgram per cubic meter of air from 2.0 microgram per cubic meter. In the Federal Register announcement of the hearing, OSHA asks stakeholders to provide testimony and documentary evidence to help the agency ensure that it has the best available information to use in developing the final rule.

If interested in attending the hearing or presenting comments, read the Federal Register announcement or visit the federal rulemaking portal and reference Docket No. OSHA-H005C-2006-0870-0353.
