EPA is collaborating with The National Archives to launch a student
multimedia contest to “Document Your
Environment.” Inspired by a collection of environmental photos from the
1970s, the contest invites students ages 13 to 18 to create any type of graphic
art, short video or poem using a Documerica photo as a prompt. Entries will be
accepted through Jan. 6, 2012.
In the 1970s, EPA commissioned freelance photographers to capture
images relating to environmental problems, EPA activities and everyday life in
the 70s. The project, called Documerica,
can now be found at the National Archives.
