The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Regulation and Enforcement (BOEMRE) has been reorganized into the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) and Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE). With this reorganization, the BOEMRE website is no longer being updated. Be sure to check the new websites for current news and information regarding both organizations.
As stated on the BOEMRE website, "BOEM will be responsible for managing the development of the offshore resources in an environmentally and economically responsible way." In addition, "BSEE will enforce safety and environmental regulations."
