Throughout the 1950s, ASSE published its Safety Engineer's Creed in many issues of the Journal of the American Society of Safety Engineers (the predecessor to the Society's current journal, Professional Safety). It was featured on the special 100th anniversary foldout cover in the November 2011 issue of PS. The creed begins, "I am a Safety Engineer.
