"I truly do appreciate being alive to tell my story," says Joseph Holland of Lehigh Acres, FL. Joseph was riding his motorcycle at 70 mph when a bird struck him in the right eye. Thankfully, he was wearing safety glasses. The force of the impact was so hard that he blacked out momentarily, but he was able to regain control of the bike and safely stop.Joseph's story and others like it are featured on a real-life stories page on Gateway Safety's website. "I believe I am alive because of the protection I received while wearing these safety glasses," Joseph says.
"We are hoping that this section of the website would help emphasize the importance of wearing safety eyewear, even outside of a workplace setting," says Gateway's Katie Mielcarek. She says the company did not expect to receive so many inspiring stories about its products.
