ASTM Invites Papers on Protective Clothing & Equipment

ASTM International is inviting papers for the 10th Symposium on Performance of Protective Clothing and Equipment: Risk Reduction Through Research and Testing, which is slated to run Jan. 28-29, 2016, in San Antonio, TX. The symposium is sponsored by and held in conjunction with meetings of ASTM International Committee F23 on Personal Protective Clothing and Equipment.

The symposium is intended to provide a forum to discuss the current state and future of the personal protective clothing and equipment industry. Papers are invited on the following topics:

  • collaboration between academic research, manufacturers and government entities to bring improved PPE to the market;
  • new/emerging PPE technologies;
  • correlating lab test methods with actual field exposures to PPE;
  • practical application of ASTM standards in PPE evaluation;
  • identifying shortcomings in existing ASTM standards for PPE evaluation.
