To help ensure product safety, NSF International launched its NSF Home Product Certification Program, which verifies the quality, safety and performance of private label/store brand home products. The organization reports that this program cam save time and money for manufacturers and retailers because it streamlines the process by providing one set of retailer-approved testing requirements. NSF collaborated with engineers, scientists, consumer safety experts, public health experts and manufacturers to develop the set of requirements for each product category.
