CSB has released a new video, Shock to the System, which details lessons learned from the Aug. 23, 2010, incident at Millard Refrigerated Services Inc. when 32,000 lb of anhydrous ammonia was released. As a result of the release, CSB reports that one Millard employee was injured and more than 150 off-site workers were exposed to the hazardous chemical when the large vapor cloud traveled a quarter mile from the facility.

The video includes a 3-D animation of the events leading up to the release and is meant to be used as a tool to help facilities prevent similar incidents from occurring due to hydraulic shock. View the video on YouTube or on the CSB website.
