ASSE to Once Again Call Park Ridge, IL, Home

On Sept. 9, 2014, ASSE purchased a new headquarters location at 520 N. Northwest Highway in Park Ridge, IL. The building is just 2 miles from the Society’s current office in Des Plaines, IL. ASSE was based in Park Ridge from 1967 until 1985, when it moved to Des Plaines.

Built in 1992, the new headquarters will enable ASSE to continue expanding the programs and services it offers to members. “This is an exciting time for the Society as it continues to grow and expand its offerings to advance the occupational safety and health profession and its practitioners,” says 2014-15 ASSE President Trish Ennis, CSP, ARM. “Congratulations to the Society on this step in its growth. We are very excited about the opportunities ahead!”

1967-85: 850 Busse Highway, Park Ridge, IL

Size: 5,000 sq. ft

Number of members in 1967: 8,347

1985-Present: 1800 E. Oakton St., Des Plaines, IL

Size: 12,700 sq ft (later expanded to 25,000 sq ft)

Number of members in 1985: 19,616

Future location: 520 N. Northwest Highway, Park Ridge, IL

Size: 32,000 sq ft office space plus a 10,000-sq-ft basement

Number of members in 2014: 36,363
