The California Fatality Assessment and Control Evaluation program (FACE), has released two, emotional videos to highlight the hazards of fatal falls on the job. The five-minute training videos, produced by California FACE with support from the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), present true stories about the deaths of a worker who fell through a skylight and a solar installer who fell off a roof.
Each video captures first-hand accounts of the incidents from workers on the job that day and explains the events leading up to the deaths as well as how they could have been prevented. According to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), falls are still the leading cause of death in construction. California FACE encourages roofing and construction companies to include these videos as part of a comprehensive safety-training program.
