According to Brain Injury Association of America, an
estimated 1.6 to 3.8 million sports- and recreation-related concussions occur
in the U.S. each year. Among children and youth age 5 to 18, the five leading
sports or recreational activities that account for concussions include
football, bicycling, basketball, playground activities and soccer. To help
prevent these injuries, i9 Sports has launched the Stop Youth Concussions Crusade, which
promotes no tackling, no heading and “when in doubt, sit out” policies.
