ASSE President Terrie S. Norris, CSP, ARM, became
a vice-chair of the International Section of the International Social Security
Association’s Prevention Culture Section during the 19th World Congress on Safety and Health at
Work conference in Istanbul, Turkey. The new section will promote the
underlying ideas of the 2008 Seoul
Declaration on Safety and Health at Work, which promotes the fact that improving safety and health at work has a positive effect on working
conditions, productivity and economic and social development.
Its signees agreed to work to place occupational safety and health high on national agendas.
“As a representative of the oldest safety society in the world and our 34,000 members located
worldwide, I am very proud to accept this invitation,” Norris said. Read
