September Is National Preparedness Month

September 1 marks the start of National Preparedness Month. FEMA is making an effort to encourage everyone in making disaster preparedness a priority.

Ready.gov is the resource for all things National Preparedness Month has to offer. There you can find a variety of resources about how to be informed in the event of an emergency, how to craft your own own plan for one, as well as tips on how build a basic disaster supply kit.

The site also offers ways to find opportunities to support communities in disaster prepardeness as well as how to craft plans for businesses. There is also a section for kids, as well as options to reach out on social media like Facebook and Twitter. The site has also posted also a series of videos ready to view on YouTube.

Ready.gov also has emergency preparedness publications available to the public at no cost.  Be sure to check back periodically throughout September for more information.
