2014-15 ASSE President Trish Ennis recently conducted a Q&A with Business Insurance, a weekly publication from Crain Communications that reaches senior-level corporate executives who purchase and administer corporate insurance/self-insurance programs.
In the interview, Ennis discusses ASSE's focus on helping members communicate the value of safety and health as well as the Society's efforts to incorporate occupational safety into the sustainability initiatives of organizations worldwide. "We're providing a voice for leadership in safety and health in shaping sustainability policies. We're trying to get safety metrics into global sustainability reporting metrics," Ennis says. "We want to be recognized as a leader for sustainability and corporate social responsibility. So it's lending the safety voice to some of those high-profile activities and reporting frameworks for corporations."
