Specifically, ASSE points to the efforts to reduce the "often confusing layers of regulatory responsibility" over covered facilities. The Society also praised the administration for recognizing the importance of cooperative efforts between industry, standards developers and other stakeholders.
"President Obama’s action appropriately takes needed steps to improve the protections from chemical explosions and other incidents that American workers, their families and the public deserve," Seabrook concludes.
