NSF and UL Partner on New Standard for Product Emissions
ANSI members, NSF International and Underwriters Laboratories (UL), announced that they will be a partnering on a health-based American National Standard for volatile organic emissions from building products and interior furnishing products. The standard, MSF/UL 440, will address chemical emissions from indoor materials, furnishings and finishes, and will replace the former GEI-NSF health-based product emissions standard. The organizations have agreed that the standard will be developed in accordance with ANSI accredited procedures, with project management support provided by both NSF International and UL. For more information, or to join the standards development process, contact Jane Wilson, director of standards at NSF International, or Daniel P. Ryan, UL standards technical panel chair.
