The Division of Behavioral Surveillance is inviting abstracts
for oral and poster presentations at the Behavioral Risk Factor
Surveillance System (BRFSS) 29th Annual Meeting, slated to run March
24-28, 2012, in Atlanta, GA. Abstracts should be limited to 250 words, and provide
a summary of work in one of several categories, including chronic diseases or conditions;
environmental determinants of health; emergency response; and health risk behaviors
and lifestyle. The deadline for abstract submission is Dec. 30, 2011.
Established in 1984 by CDC, BRFSS
is a state-based system of health surveys that collects information on health
risk behaviors, preventive health practices and health care access primarily
related to chronic diseases and injury. States use BRFSS data to identify
emerging health problems, establish and track health objectives, and develop
and evaluate public health policies and programs.
