New Article Offers 12 Keys to Dauntless Innovation

Innovation is important to any organization, especially in OSH.   1. Get clear on the scope of the need.
  2. Research quickly but extensively.
  3. Pick a specific need to focus on.
  4. Identify barriers to meeting the need (e.g., physical, procedural, political).
  5. Define resource constraints (time, money, manpower).
  6. Question assumptions.
  7. Explore new ways to utilize existing resources.
  8. Get user input instead of guessing or assuming.
  9. Move toward the needs.
  10. Be willing to endure hardship.
  11. Have eyes, ears, and feet on the ground.
  12. Improvise.
