- Define resource constraints (time, money, manpower).

- Explore new ways to utilize existing resources.
- Get user input instead of guessing or assuming.
- Move toward the needs.
- Be willing to endure hardship.
- Have eyes, ears, and feet on the ground.
- Improvise.
