Fueling Safely


Fire pots, personal fireplaces and patio torches powered by gel fuel are the latest rage in backyard lighting/heating. However, recent news reports involving these products and burn injuries suggest that people should exercise extreme caution when using these products, especially when refueling. NFPA warns that a flame may still be burning even when it is not visible, and pouring fuel on any open flame is extremely unsafe. Download NFPA’s safety tips fact sheet here.
