OSHA Wildfire Tips
Unfortunately, it often takes a devastating event like the recent
Colorado wildfires to remind the public how quickly disaster can strike. To lessen
damage and fatalities in future wildfire disasters, OSHA offers wildfire preparedness tips
and evacuation
plans for workers. According to the Administration, it is essential to
discuss in advance what conditions will activate the plan and who will be in charge.
Plans should be reviewed with all employees, and any necessary training should
be administered. In the event that
there is not enough time to evacuate or if workers are caught in circumstances
where they cannot follow the evacuation plan, FEMA offers guidance on what to do during
a wildfire if
in a vehicle, in a residence or out in the open. For more information
