EPA
has honored several organizations for their achievements in using renewable electricity or green power. The agency reports that electricity is the single-largest producer of greenhouse gas emissions and green power can immensely help reduce those emissions and improve community health. EPA defines green power as "electricity generated from renewable resources, such as solar, wind, geothermal, biogas and low-impact hydro, and produces no net increase of greenhouse gas emissions."
