ASSE member Pam Walaski has published a new book, Risk & Crisis Communications, that is written specifically for EHS practitioners looking to add more value to their professional skill set. She covers topics such as methods of risk and crisis communication; communication fundamentals and theoretical foundations; goal setting and audience profiling; avoiding common mistakes; and working with the media. Walaski also provides a framework for developing a risk and crisis communications plan and reviews two case studies. In his review of the book, Fred Manuele concludes, “This is a good book for safety professionals who want to add to their professional skills and to initiate discussion on developing a risk and crisis communications plan in the organizations to which they give counsel, or to recommend improvement in existing plans.”
