It briefly reviews laws, regulations and standards for many world regions, including the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Brazil and the European Union, then details six steps to designing a safe machine: 1) risk assessment; 2) safe machine design; 3) engineering controls; 4) administrative measures; 5) machine validation; and 6) operation.
