OSHA Schedules Meeting to Address Emergency Response & Preparedness

OSHA will host an informal stakeholder meeting to gather information, comments and suggestions as it considers a proposed standard for emergency response and preparednessRecent events, including the West, TX, explosion that killed several emergency responders, and additional information gathered in response to a 2007 OSHA Request for Information on this issue indicate that responder health and safety continues to be an area of concern.

OSHA plans to focus on issues such as scope and approach surrounding emergency response and preparedness. The meeting will be held July 30 at 9 a.m. in the DOL building in Washington, DC. Those interested in attending may register online, or by mail, before July 2.
