OSHA plans to focus on issues such as scope and approach surrounding emergency response and preparedness. The meeting will be held July 30 at 9 a.m. in the DOL building in Washington, DC. Those interested in attending may register online, or by mail, before July 2.

OSHA Schedules Meeting to Address Emergency Response & Preparedness
OSHA will host an informal stakeholder meeting to gather information, comments and suggestions as it considers a proposed standard for emergency response and preparedness. Recent events, including the West, TX, explosion that killed several emergency responders, and additional information gathered in response to a 2007 OSHA Request for Information on this issue indicate that responder health and safety continues to be an area of concern.
