ANSI's newly updated "ANS Key Steps" document lists the key steps involved in the approval of voluntary consensus standards as American National Standards (ANS). The updated version provides links to related forms and resources. According to ANSI, "in order to qualify for ANSI accreditation, organizations must meet the Institute's requirements for openness, balance, due process and consensus in their standards development process."
