Standard Helps Campuses With Security Plans

An ANSI-approved standard, ASME-ITI Risk Analysis 2010, provides a best practices guide for safety and security on U.S. college and university campuses. ANSI reports the standard, Analysis Standard for Natural Man-Made Hazards to Higher Education Institutions, "lays out a risk management process to identify, analyze and communicate risks" on campuses. "The standard addresses threats to human life and well-being, as well as risks to facilities and infrastructure, and also encompasses potential operational hazards," the organization says.
