NETS Drive Safely Work Week Campaign Wraps Up

Nearly two-thirds of all people killed on U.S. roadways were members of the nation's workforce, creating a significant human and economic toll on employers, according to the Network of Employers for Traffic Safety (NETS). October 6-10 was NETS national Drive Safely Work Week campaign. More than 2200 organizations representing approximately 23 million employees took part promoting safe-driving education and awareness for all employees and their families. The campaign's theme was "Driving Your Safety Culture Home" and the focus was building a case for executive leadership to adopt safe driving for all employees as a part of the corporate safety culture. Although the campaign has ended, many resources are still available. 

NETS offers a free employer tool kit providing low-cost tools and ideas to start, expand and sustain a road safety program, encouraging employers to go beyond business drivers and reach all employees with road safety education and outreach. The tool kit provides easy-to-use web-based resources that include workplace posters, activities, PowerPoint presentations, graphics and more. The materials are not dated and may be used at any time during the year to promote safe driving.


Also, other materials available provide steps to engage employees in road safety with a starting point focused on seat belts and mobile device use while driving.
