Capital Safety, a manufacturer of fall protection equipment, is raising awareness about fall protection during OSHA's National Stand-Down on Falls in Construction June 2-6 through its Every Worker Every Time initiative. The company aims to educate up to 50,000 construction workers this week by traveling to job sites and providing training on proper use and inspection of fall protection equipment.
"A very big part of the awareness training is making sure that workers understand the importance of inspecting equipment each time it will be used to ensure all webbing is intact," says Kevin Coplan, president of Capital Safety. Such pre-use inspection training includes verifying that all screws are in place and that the equipment is free of cuts and burn holes.
