Friday Flashback: John Grimaldi on Safety Achievement

Back in 2006, ASSE's Professional Safety celebrated its 50th anniversary by sharing articles from older issues of the journal, many written by pioneers in the field. Over the next few months, ASSE's EHS Works blog will be posting one of those articles each Friday to offer a look back in time at how the SH&E profession has developed and evolved.

Our first article is "Management & Industrial Safety Achievement: A Practical Approach & New Philosophy for Risk Evaluation & Control" by John V. Grimaldi, an ASSE Fellow and former ASSE president. The article was originally published in November 1965. Check it out here.

"The basis for effective control it seems is firmly fixed in the management decision-making process. The method essentially is a disciplined approach to risk evaluation and control."
--John Grimaldi, 1965
