How Dangerous Are Phlebotomy Needles?

A recent article in the ASSE's Healthcare Practice Specialty’s HealthBeat publication addressed the dangers of vacuum-based blood collection systems. The author calls for phlebotomy needle manufacturers to modify their needle designs in an effort to reduce the number of needlestick injuries suffered by U.S. healthcare workers each year.
