The WAVE campaign, from the Office of Healthcare Quality and U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, is a four-step process to help keep family members and caregivers safe and healthy from infectious diseases. The campaign's name (WAVE) stands for:

• Wash hands.
• Ask questions.
• Vaccinate.
• Ensure safety.
