Don’t Forget to Change Batteries (and Clocks) This Weekend

For most of the U.S., Daylight Saving Time ends this weekend. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) reminds consumers to change their smoke and carbon monoxide detector batteries, too. The time change is a convenient reminder to keep these lifesaving devices running properly. In addition, CPSC recommends testing the alarms monthly. According to the agency, about two-thirds of fire deaths occur in homes with either no smoke alarms or smoke alarms that don’t work.
