OSHA Guidance on Lab Hazards
OSHA’s new education materials, Laboratory Safety Guidance, describe how to control electrical, fire, explosions and falls through the use of safety plans, worker training, engineering controls and PPE. The agency also posted fact sheets focused on a specific hazard related to laboratory environments. In addition, OSHA is collaborating with the National Academies to update the nonmandatory appendices in the Laboratory Standard (29 CFR 1910.1450) to ensure that they are consistent with the guidance given in revised Prudent Practices in the Laboratory. Find links to all the materials here.
